Back to School Supply Drive
Posted By:
k2ladmin at 9:53 am EST

The need came to the Kids to Love Foundation about three weeks before school was set to start. The number started out at 300 foster kids in north Alabama who needed supplies for the upcoming school year.

In that three week period, the foundation put the word out about this need and called on you to help. And boy, did you ever come through for these kids. The employees of Boeing donated 402 backpacks full of school supplies, many churches/businesses placed boxes in front of their congregation and employees and viewers of WAFF-TV 48 heard Lee's appeal for help and responded by bringing supplies to the television station. Because of this support, the foundation was able to take school supplies to more than 700 kids in north Alabama.Because of your support, together we continue to make a difference in the life of a foster child.

Meth Conviction Registry Online
Posted By:
k2ladmin at 10:14 am EST

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is creating an Internet registry of people convicted of making the
powerful illegal stimulant methamphetamine.

Beginning in September county officials statewide will begin sending the T-B-I the names and addresses of anyone convicted of making meth. The registry would join the existing online listing of sex offenders.

Authorities say the registry can let members of the public using the Internet know who in their area has been convicted of making the widespread illegal drug. Tennessee last year ranked behind only Missouri nationally in the number of meth lab busts.

Back to School Supplies NEEDED!
Posted By:
k2ladmin at 11:01 am EST

After meeting with social workers all over north Alabama, it has come to our attention that many of our foster children will be going back to school without school supplies. That is unless you can help us.

The Kids to Love Foundation was started to help meet the immediate needs of foster children in our area and we currently have a need.

We are not asking for you to sponsor all 100 children that need our help, but we are asking you to do what you can. For some, that might be $5.00 for others it could be $25, $50 or even $100.

I have provided a link for you if you would like to go ahead and help us online. By paying online, we are able to accept visa and mastercard.

If not, just mail your contribution to the following address:

Kids to Love spreads into the Shoals
Posted By:
k2ladmin at 9:53 am EST

"We want to be pro-active and not reactive", words from K2L founder, Lee Marshall as she talked with social workers in Lauderdale and Franklin counties about the meth program in their area.

The need may not be as great when you look at numbers but this gives kids in these areas an opportunity to be helped as the need grows. Meth is in these areas just not in the case numbers that have been displayed in other north Alabama counties.

With the addition of these two counties, the Kids to Love and their meth program is now in seven counties with more being added by the end of July.
