Kids to Love Founder/CEO Lee Marshall has earned a new distinction. Lee has been selected as one of the 2017 "This is Alabama" Women Who Shape the State. Davidson Farms Receives State Licensure
Davidson Farms has received its state licensure from Alabama's Department of Human Resources. The approval clears the way for the home to serve children living in foster care. Located in Madison County, Davidson Farms is an 8-bedroom home with room to house up to 10 girls. House parents will lead the way toward refuge and restoration for girls ages 10-19 who are living in the foster care system. Kids to Love has received a $10,000 grant from Torch Helps, a charity of Torch Technologies based in Huntsville, AL. 2017 More Than a Backpack Campaign is Largest Ever
The 2017 school supply season is the biggest More Than a Backpack drive in Kids to Love history. We served 5,458 students across 160 counties in 4 states! Those states are Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and Mississippi. Backpacks often double as suitcases for children living in foster care as they are moved from home to home. Community "Stuffs the Truck" for Foster Children
The rain couldn't wash away the spirit of generosity surrounding our "Stuff the Truck" challenge. iHeart radio stations helped us put out the call for donations, and the community answered in a big way! Golf Tournament Raises Money, Backpacks to Support Kids to Love
The annual Parsons Golf Tournament to support Kids to Love raised $20,000 this year! More than 100 golfers participated in the tournament at the Robert Trent Jones Hampton Cove Golf Course on July 21st. Each golfer was encouraged to bring a backpack filled with school supplies for the "More than a Backpack" campaign, which provides school supplies to foster children in Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia and Mississippi.
