Julie has worked as Communications Director for Kids to Love since 2007.
Originally from a small Alabama community called Bayview, Julie graduated from Troy (State) University in 1999 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. She interned and was hired at ABC 33/40 in Birmingham where she worked for 2 years as a news producer. In 2001, Julie moved to Huntsville to produce the 6:00 newscast at WAFF 48 News. She was promoted to Executive Producer and also served as acting News Director before leaving the TV industry to work with Kids to Love.
Julie's responsibilities at Kids to Love have varied as the organization has grown. Now Julie coordinates volunteers, assists with administrative tasks, and works alongside the rest of the team to carry out Kids to Love's many programs. She especially enjoys the annual "Christmas for the Kids" drive. For all the stress and busyness, it's incredibly special to watch the community help Kids to Love grant Christmas wishes for local foster children
Julie is an active member of Trinity Baptist Church in Madison. She and her husband Jeff have 2 daughters, Abby Kate and Lily.
