Kids to Love Unveils New Family Room for Foster Children

Kids to Love unveiled a room renovation in Montgomery that will better serve children in foster care.

As many as 100 children per week visit the Family Visitation Room at Montgomery County DHR. They play as social workers find them a safe place to stay once they are placed in foster care. The room is also utilized as children visit their families.

"This is likely one of the worst days of their lives," says Sonia Martin, President of the Montgomery County Adoptive and Foster Parents Association and TBRI Practitioner for Kids to Love. "What if they could have a space to start to feel safe?"

Many businesses and volunteers worked alongside Kids to Love to give new life to the room. Contributors included The Home Depot, The Lettered Cottage and dozens of individual volunteers.
