IronMountain Solutions makes $50,000 donation in support of Davidson Farms Cottage Community

Local technology solutions company IronMountain Solutions is giving Kids to Love’s Davidson Farms Cottage Community a big boost as construction continues.

IronMountain Solutions presented Kids to Love with a $50,000 donation Wednesday in support of the Cottage Community.

Davidson Farms houses girls in foster care from ages 10 to 19. The five homes being built in the Farm’s Cottage Community will help girls transition out of foster care and begin their careers or continue their education while still getting the support they need from Kids to Love.

“Kids to Love believes that every child deserves a loving home,” Kids to Love founder and CEO Lee Marshall said. “We already provide that with Davidson Farms for young girls and teens, but now with our Cottage Community we can offer these young ladies a support system as they age out of the foster care system. Becoming a young adult is such a crucial step in life and we want to make sure our girls have every opportunity to succeed.”

A groundbreaking for the cottages took place in September 2020 and move-in dates are set for later this year.

“I am honored for the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the new Cottage Community at Davidson Farms,” said IronMountain Solutions President and CEO Hank Isenberg. “I am confident in the mission of Kids to Love and look forward to the opportunities that will come for the new residents of the Cottage Community.”

As construction continues, Kids to Love is also taking donations to stock the cottages with items for the girls. Through the Kids to Love Click, Ship, & Give program, anyone can buy items ranging from salt shakers to coffee makers to help Make It a Home. A link to shop for the items needed can be found on the Kids to Love website at https://www.kidstolove.org/click-ship-give.

Davidson Farms was licensed as a foster home for girls in 2017. Since then, 23 girls have experienced hope, healing and home there.

The Farm is one of many programs Kids to Love has to ensure foster children have the love and care they deserve. Kids to Love is a licensed child placing agency with the state of Alabama and also meets the needs of children and foster families for everything from emergency assistance to Christmas gifts.
