Jack’s Family Fund Hosts Charitable Campaign to Raise Funds for Foster Children in Alabama
Southern staple Jack’s Family Restaurants recently donated $125,000 to the Alabama-based Kids to Love Foundation on November 18, 2020 in support of the organization’s ultimate goal—finding “forever families” for children who are waiting to be adopted.
Jack’s corporate giving arm, Jack’s Family Fund, was proud to support this important cause with a fundraising campaign that ran from Sept. 30 through Oct. 20. Always thinking of guests and employees as one big family, Jack’s remains committed to serving its communities and being there during times of need. Kids to Love exists to help children in foster care find lifelong homes and to recruit adoptive parents.
The Kids to Love Foundation giving campaign ran in every Jack’s location. Contributors donated online and via text message, and they were also given the opportunity to donate in-person at local Jack’s restaurants. In addition to calling on local media to spread the word about the campaign, Jack’s provided local Alabama news anchors and influencers with white ribbons to wear during National Adoption Week to help spread the message. Jack’s employees also hosted their own fundraising events, including community car shows and yard sales, to earn donations.
“We’re humbled to be supporting the Kids to Love Foundation with this donation,” said Todd Bartmess, CEO, Jack’s Family Restaurants. “Our communities have come together to take care of each other, just like family does in the South.”
Lee Marshall, CEO, Kids to Love Foundation, accepted the donation on behalf of the organization. “Children in foster care don't know the privilege of being part of a community. Jack's is helping us change that. The company and customers have come along beside us for many years, and when our kids see that kind of continued community it builds their confidence and shows that people are in their corner cheering for them,” Marshall said.
For the past several years, Jack’s Family Restaurants has supported Kids to Love as part of an effort to make corporate giving a permanent part of their business. Since 2017, the Jack’s Family Fund has donated over $1MM and facilitated 446+ grants in various communities across the South. 1,669 Jack’s employees donate weekly to help families in the community. In partnering with the Kids to Love Foundation, Jack’s helps to continue the work of impacting the lives of thousands of foster children.
