Kids to Love is excited to welcome Tracy Miller as the newest team member to our Child Placement Agency.
Tracy brings 30 years of knowledge and experience in the foster care system. He has worked his entire career with the Alabama Department of Human Resources, most recently as Director of Limestone County DHR. Tracy will work at Kids to Love as a Case Manager and Home Study Lead for the Child Placement Agency.
“After retiring, I knew I didn't want to just leave the field of social work,” Tracy says. “I felt I could still go somewhere and make a difference, and I knew I didn't have to look any further than Kids to Love. I have seen and experienced the difference they make in children's lives, and I knew I wanted to be a part of this!”
Kids to Love announced its Child Placement Agency licensure in July. It will allow Kids to Love to license foster families and place children into homes, alleviating the immense need for more families to care for Alabama’s 6,300 children in foster care.
“We know how great the need is for foster families,” says Lee Marshall, Founder/CEO. “I knew we needed someone of Tracy’s caliber to be a part of our Child Placement Agency. Tracy is knowledgeable about the foster care system but also extremely dedicated and compassionate to the needs of children whose lives have been disrupted.”
Tracy joins Patricia Corbitt who is the Executive Director of our Child Placement Agency and will work with Patricia to prepare families on how to care for children who have come into foster care. Tracy says he’s ready to get started.
“I want to see a day where there are plenty of foster parents who are willing to open up their homes to provide a safe and nurturing home for these children who are in the foster care system,” says Tracy. “I not only want for them to have a safe place to go but to see them work through their trauma and heal by having services provided to them that can help them transition safely and successfully out of the system.”
